Description
Lazy Garden is a game I made for the HaxeJam 2024 hosted on itch.io. I'm always looking for an opportunity to play with the Haxe language more so I entered the jam.
My entry was made with the HaxeFlixel framework built on top of the OpenFL layer (I'll get more into the Haxe stack as I see it in a separate article). The HaxeFlixel framework is great for making pixel art or 2D games very quickly and has both desktop and webGL targets so it was great for me.
The game itself has no real goal, you simply accumulate ingredients and use those to add plants to your garden. Those plants emit more materials to craft more plants and the cycle continues.
Future plans involved triggering the creation of biomes when you meet the criteria by planting a certain amount of specfic plants. For examples if you plant enough cactii the area becomes a desert biome.
